The boring bits, written like a human.

Plain-English terms, acceptable use, privacy and service information. If anything is unclear, ask us before you order — we would rather explain it than have you guess.

01

Terms of Service

These terms cover shared and reseller hosting accounts provided by North West UK Webhosts. By ordering a service, you agree to them.

Hosting is billed monthly in GBP unless we agree otherwise in writing. Prices exclude VAT where applicable. We confirm the amount and renewal date before an account is activated.

There is no fixed-term contract. You can cancel before the next renewal and the account remains active until the end of the paid period. We do not charge an exit fee.

You are responsible for the content on your sites, the security of your cPanel and email passwords, and keeping your contact details current. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend an account for non-payment, a serious security risk, illegal content, or use that threatens other customers. Where it is safe and practical, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.

We aim to provide a reliable service, but hosting is not immune to faults, network issues, software bugs or events outside our control. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the affected service during the previous month, to the extent the law allows.

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the client area before they take effect.

02

Acceptable Use

The service is for legitimate websites, email and applications. It is not a platform for harming other people or the network.

Do not host adult content, gambling, unlicensed streaming, phishing, malware, spam infrastructure, or content that infringes copyright or other rights.

Do not run bulk email, mass messaging, public file-sharing, proxy services, crypto mining, or anything that creates an disproportionate load on shared infrastructure.

You must keep scripts, plugins and themes up to date. An abandoned or compromised site can affect every customer on the server, so we may isolate or suspend it while we investigate.

Resource limits are shown on the package page and applied to the cPanel account. We do not hide arbitrary caps, but we may intervene if a single account is degrading the service for others.

If you are unsure whether a project is suitable, ask before you order. A short conversation is better than a suspension.

03

Privacy Notice

We collect the minimum information needed to provide hosting, support and account administration.

We store your name, email address, company and phone details if you provide them, your domain, order and support history, and security information such as login timestamps and IP addresses.

We use this information to provide the service, respond to enquiries, manage billing and protect the server. We do not sell customer data or share it with advertising networks.

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be read by staff. Payment details are handled through the payment method agreed during onboarding; we do not store card numbers on this website.

We keep account and billing records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to correct or delete your personal data, subject to any records we must retain.

Our website uses only the cookies needed for the client area session and basic security. We do not currently run third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

To make a privacy request, email support@north-west-uk-webhosts.co.uk from the address on your account. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity before acting.

04

Service Level

We do not hide behind an uptime badge. This is what you can reasonably expect from a small, human-run host.

We target 99.9% monthly availability for the web and database service, excluding planned maintenance and events outside our control. This is a target, not a financial guarantee unless a separate written SLA has been agreed.

We monitor the platform, apply security updates and keep daily backups with two rolling restore points. Backups are for disaster recovery; they are not a substitute for your own copy of important data.

Support is provided by email and, once available, WhatsApp during the published hours. We aim to reply within one working day and prioritise outages and security issues.

If something goes wrong, tell us the domain, what you were doing and any error message. That gives us the best chance of fixing it quickly.

05

Cookies & Sessions

The public site is mostly static. The client area and admin panel need a small number of essential cookies.

A secure session cookie keeps you signed in to the client area. It is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and is removed when you sign out or the session expires.

Security features may set short-lived cookies or rate-limit records to protect forms and sign-in attempts. These are not used for advertising.

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Clearing the session cookie will simply sign you out.
